Dry Season is Finally Here!!

After two weeks of weather that even the truest midwesterner would despair in, the sun has finally appeared. Our clothes are drying! We can leave the door open! No more need to debate "do I open my umbrella or not"!

Dry season also means that its vacation time. That's right, my first official day of Christmas vacation was yesterday and it was well enjoyed. We cleaned the house, did bank stuff, started the Christmas cookie bake-a-thon and finished decorating for Christmas. Now you can really feel it in the air.

In getting ready for Christmas, we've finished getting Katy's outfit ready. She is fascinated with pretty things, especially shoes and dresses. If you ask her to show you her shoes she knows just what to do.

We had another wedding to go to this past weekend and Katy got all dressed up for it in her fancy dress. So fancy in fact that many people mistook her for the flower girl. She was quite proud of herself.

Katy has also started helping out with various chores around the house. She managed to help Daddy carry the bread all the way from the corner pulperia after accompanying Mommy to the feria.

Gera was busy organizing a service project with a group from Texas. They went to one of the schools that Gera had worked in before and had a Christmas party for 300 kids while some people were able to pass out tracs and evangelize to the parents who were waiting outside.

We said good bye to 2 of our very good friends Wil and Naylene. They moved to Kansas City on Wednesday where they will be attending a Bible school in KBC church (the home church of our pastor). We were very sad to see them go, but happy to see them following their desire to learn more about the Bible and prepare for the ministry. I'm waiting for the pics from Naylene, but keep them in your prayers as they are starting their lives over.

Katy found her land legs this week. She just took off after three months of testing them out and now she confidently manuevers herself around pretty much everything. No running yet though (thank goodness!).

Enjoy preparing for Christmas and the New Year!
