Birthday Bash

We were finally able to inaugurate our house with a party, a birthday party that is. There were four people from church that celebrated their birthdays within a two week period. It gave us a chance to show off the new, and now improved, house.

In anticipation of the party, Andres came over three days to help Gera finish covering the leaks and do some electrical rewiring (Naomi, Beth and Scott, the light switch for the back is no in the back and not in our bedroom, there is a light switch in the upstairs hall and the shower upstairs has hot water!).

The party was a Costa Rican style BBQ.
R to L: Salem, Heizel and Kai where in charge of the grilling.

Katy had a blast with Heizel and Cai's three children. We only have pictures of two...Sofia with Katy and Aaron. Check out Katy's first ever Kool-Aid mustach. Unbeknownst to us, she had taken Aaron's cup and loved drinking every drop she could, till she spilled it in her room.

After the meat, we played some fun games which included Beth's infamous "Guess My Number" game as well as the "I'm going camping and I'm taking..."

Of course it wouldn't be a birthday celebration without a cake.

The four birthday guys, L to R: Andres, Carlos, Gera and Joel.

Julie stopped by for a quick visit. She brought Bob and Trish with her to show them the house. Bob is Gera's new boss (his second job) and Trish was his English teacher for the month. Both of them, with their 5 kids, took their summer vacation to come down and volunteer here in Costa Rica with Alex and Julie. They also lead a six-week marriage Bible study that we were able to participate in.

The night ended in the early morning with more games including a new one called "Woosh" and "Mr. Hit". I can't wait to teach you all "Woosh" when we come home. It was making people cry they were laughing so hard.
