Last week, my class had our first field trip to the butterfly farm. It was a beautiful, sunny day so the butterflies were very active.
Our guide showed us the back of the owl butterfly...
...and the chrysalis of a blue morpho butterfly.
Here is the first class picture that I've managed to take...it's not the greatest, but you can get an idea of the amount of boys I have over girls. One of my girls was absent this day.
At the end of the tour, the farm gave us two chyrsalis' to take back to school. The very next day one opend up. The class decided to call her/him Blacky.

That butterful is beautiful!!! The perks of being a teacher = you get to go do and learn about fun things.
