The month of September went by super fast. We were set into the school routine and happy to get reacquainted with old friends. The big holiday of the month is Costa Rica's Independence Day. The celebration starts on the 14th, even though the real day is the 15th. Katy had an assembly and had to go dressed up in her typical Costa Rican outfit. She was smashing and ready to show off.

That evening we went to the celebration and parade in downtown Escazu. Although it rained before hand, the rain stopped just in time to sing the national anthem, enjoy the annual farol (latern) parade and watch the traditional dances performed by the dancing club.
The following weekend was the annual CDS family picnic. While I was busy with my own booth of "A Minute to Win It", the girls were busy playing games, making bracelets and getting their faces painted. Then we headed off to the petting area where we ran into some friends.

As there are on other pictures from that month, I don't remember anything else special that happened. All in all a calm and normal month.
