Whoever said that life was easier as a grown up never grew up. I'm not saying that life is hard; it just has more challenges than expected. This month happens to be one of those above average challenging months. Of course all challenges are what God uses to mold us and shape us to be the men and women he wants us to be. Some are more challenging than others.
This past week especially has been with lots of food for thought. Gera hit a car from behind...no one was hurt, but the cars were slightly damaged. We've also recieved some unexpected news concerning the contract for this year's festival. Please pray for us as we make some decisions, change some things and that God would make the path clear for us to follow.
Something less challenging, but to some would be equally stressful, is our never ending shower saga. A short two weeks after my parents left, our wonderful shower (only a year old) decided to break. Really just the heating coil inside, but without it there is no hot water. Something, in my books, that is essential to taking a shower. Gera wasn't so affected growing up with cold showers his whole life. Anyway, we installed the new, realitively inexpensive, coil which worked, however, much to our dismay, some cold water managed to seep through without heating up. Talk about a new definition for half'n'half.
After two days of half'n'half showers, Gera decided that he could fix it...which led to an overload on the wires and NO shower for two weeks. We were taken back to the pioneer days of heating water on the stove and pouring it over you to feel clean. I have a new appreciation for all their effort to stay clean.
Despite all these challenges, Katy continually brings a smile to our faces. There is a Spanish version of "This Little Piggy" about a little ant selling peanuts (manĂ) and how everybody gets some but meeeee! (this is the part where the tickling happens). Just this week she's started doing it to other people.
