Our Very Own Easter Bunny

Dry season has truly come and we have been sweltering in the heat these past two weeks. This last Saturday we reached a record high (it was around 100 degrees in the sun) for the Central Valley.

To relieve some of the heat we took Katy's bathtub outside on the porch and turned it into a bathpool. She had so much fun. Mommy has to do some adjusting on the new swim suit. Isn't the skirt just cute!

On Monday we said goodbye to our friend Brittany. Her husband Michael returned to Canada two weeks prior. Brittany stayed for an AIDS training seminar which she really enjoyed. After weeks of hard work, Katy finally warmed up to her.Sunday night, after walking Brittany home, Gera came in the house with a white bunny in his arms. He found it roaming around on the street in front of our house. He grabbed it just in time to save it from the jaws of Bobi (the neighborhood dog).

It is obviously someone's pet, so we made posters up placed them up. If noone claims it before Saturday, then we need to decide if we want to keep it or give it away. I'm all for keeping it, but Gera needs some more convincing. Katy, of course, is enthralled with "bunny". It would appear that bunny is not quite as enthralled with Katy.

Yesterday, when we let "bunny" out, Katy chased it all over the house. She is still learning to be gentle, but one thing she has learned is to approach it from behind to pick it up. It was so cute to see her trying to carry bunny around. She did manange to pick it up all by herself, but bunny was just too heavy and she fell forward. She was also laughing hysterically when the bunny, to escape her grasping hands, went between her legs. It's been fun to see her interact with the bunny these last few days.
