Rain, Rain, Go Away

These last two weeks have been the heart of the rainy season. We've been cooped up inside unable to leave because of the rain. Last Monday we had off and spent the day as a family. First we built a fort.

Then we colored and played with our toys.

However, by the afternoon, the girls were so tired of being inside (and mommy was too), we dressed up in our rain gear and headed outside.

We had gotten some rain boots for Elena and I was excited to take her out too. Here we are showing off our rain boots.

Elena was thrilled to be outside walking in the puddles just like her big sister in her boots. She held my hand the whole time we walked outside and not once did she cry or want to be held. Katy splashed and splashed...needless to say she needed to change her clothes when we got back despite the protective gear. It was a nice break despite the gloomy weather.
