Happy Father's Day!!!

Although we celebrate Father's Day here in CR, it's not quite the same as it is in the US. We went to Gera's parents' house to spend the afternoon with Papi. It was a nice time with the family. Gera got to celebrate it with a shopping spree yesterday. He got some much needed jeans and dress shirts for work.

Some fun pictures from a night of family time, just hanging out.

Katy was trying out life in Daddy's shoes.

Katy kiss sandwich!!!!

We also had the privilege of having Andres and Stephanie over to help fix the roof.

What life would be like without it.

Here they (Andres on the L and Gera on the R) are pulling a "McGyver". For those of you that are old enough, you can remember the show McGyver; the man who could get himself out of any mess, whether it be C4 or a sinking car, with the penny he had in his wallet and the hammer that happened to be under the car seat. Well, CR as added the word to it's slang vocabulary. Definition: fixing something using whatever you have on hand.

Katy spent most of the morning "helping" Mommy and Daddy. She also played with our friend Stephanie from New Orleans. Stephanie was here a year ago studying Spanish and participated in a Bible Study with me. It was nice to see her again and spend some time with her.

The last time Stephanie saw Katy she was 6 months old, so Stephanie had fun getting to know the older Katy, if you want to call 19 months old. Here you can see the new shoes she got this weekend.

Vacation started on Friday for me and I'm happy and relaxed, ready to start all my summer projects:
scrapbooking - finish Katy's baby book and catch up on our own
crafts - baby stuff for friends, pillows for us, curtains for the front windows...
garden - work up the back yard and put in some vegetable plants and grass
exercise - either run/walk each day or do the exercise DVD I have

Katy seems to be content to have mommy around more now. It's been fun seeing all the words that she's saying now (mango, apple, peepee, baca which is cow in Spanish, etc.) She's so much more communicative now.
