A Wonderful Visit

I don't know how to even start to tell you about the past two weeks, but here's a start. My sisters, Beth and Naomi, and my brother-in-law, Scott (Beth's hubby), came down to visit for 10 days. Preparing for their arrival, the visit, and the recovery would be why I've disappeared for a while.

As you can imagine, they were super tired when they arrived. That night we just took things easy and let them catch up on their sleep. The next day they got to relax some more and get aquainted with their neice.

Katy Lou provided them with many foto ops and showed them all sides of her personality.

Katy's first picture with Aunt Naomi.

Getting cuddly with Aunt Beth on the first day!

Thursday night we left for the beach. God cleared the way and we were blessed with a road that wasn't foggy, a little rain and a sleeping baby.

Despite her petite size, Katy Lou can eat with the best of them. She especially good at stuffing her mouth with her breakfast...oatmeal mixed with flavored yogurt.

We took so many pictures at the beach that they wouldn't all fit on the blog, so I've uploaded my favorite ones to share with you.

Want to come for a visit?!

Katy loved the pool and after getting used to the feeling of weightlessness in the water, she relaxed. Beth showed us how to properly hold her and some skills to teach her. By the end of the weekend, she was kicking and scooping with the best of them.

The owners of the hotel found this little puppy on the side of the road. They named her Zoey and offered her to us. However, after serious thinking and debating, we decided that we weren't quite ready for a pet yet. Katy was a little cautious at first, but after some time she was warmed up to the puppy enough to give her a kiss and let her sit on her lap.

Two little girls made for each other.

Katy was thrilled to help us clean up the cabin. This is a great picture that captures her smile just after she threw a piece of paper in the garbage.

Group picture, but poor Katy was a little scared with everyone piling in around her.

After the relaxing weekend, it was back to work. Beth and Naomi spent the day with me to see what a day in the life of a teacher is like. As you can see, they kept themselves entertained with the infamous I Spy books.

Welcome to my office, and yes there is an order to the chaos on my desk.

Beth introduced this fun marble game where they had to get the marble form point A to point B using the pipes. It took them a little bit longer than Beth thought it would for them to get it there, but they never gave up.

Beth and Naomi were amazed at all the cleaning Katy helps with...really its more of a fascination with the broom, but she tries her best.

Each aunt got a chance to spend some quality time with Katy. Beth got to read The Belly Book to Katy and Naomi introduced Dancing with the Stars to us. Katy loved to watching all the twirls. She would get so excited that she would start dancing on Naomi's lap.

One last picture with Katy on their last night here. It was hard to say good-bye.

Us "adults" went out the last night to a wonderful Italian restaurant, Pan E Vino. However, when we went to pay we were surprised with a 35% discount for using a Citi card! After dinner we went to watch Night at the Museum 2 in the VIP Theater.

Naomi was feeling left out as all the couples walked hand in hand to the theater and she was all by herself. Next time Michael will just have to come down with her.

The theater isn't called VIP for nothing!

Nice and comfy seats.

They left that morning at 4 a.m. It was hard to see them go; it only seemed like yesterday since they'd gotten here. We really had lots of fun though and are looking forward to the next family visit from Emily and Laura in August!
